Proposed legislation, PA House Bill 1257
This proposed legislation is currently up for a vote in Harrisburg. It will allow all veterans with a 50% or greater disability rating from the VA to receive a discount on their property taxes. Ie if you have a 100% rating, no property tax, if you have a 70%, you get a 70% discount on your property taxes. This is a significant change if passed. Currently, you must have a 100% combat related disability and there was an income threshold. I highly encourage our members to reach out to their local state assembly member and support this bill. This is not an official MOAA legislative action item from National, but affects our brothers and sisters in PA! Don’t delay, please support. I have attached the marked up bill for your review.
